The Pubnet Order Wizard (POW) is a web interface that provides a logical alternative to costly EDI implementation for booksellers, publishers, wholesalers and distributors who wish to utilize EDI.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technology has proven to increase efficiency in the supply chains of those few who could afford it. Now, Pubnet offers those who have not implemented EDI technology, a functional EDI module– POW!

Features including

• Sending/ Receiving Purchase Orders (POs) 850
• Sending/ Receiving Purchase Order Acknowledgements (POAs) 855: a response to the PO including the status of each item (i.e. In stock, on backorder, out of print)
• Sending/ Receiving Advance Ship Notice (ASNs) 856: gives information as to what is being sent in a shipment
• Sending/ Receiving Invoices 810: an electronic invoice to bill for products
• Sending/ Receiving Functional Acknowledgements 997: Acknowledges the receipt of each document
• Capabilities to printing packing slips and shipping labels (suppliers only)

POW requires:

• A computer with access to the World Wide Web (WWW)
• A publisher who is receiving or will receive minimal EDI orders
• A Web browser supporting frames and Java scripts
• No internal technical expertise
• A willingness to experience the efficiency of EDI
