13-Digit ISBN Overview for Pubnet Order Wizard (POW) Users

Pubnet assures that all retailers and vendors utilizing the Pubnet Order Wizard (POW) that it will be in compliance with the 13-Digit ISBN mandate in 2007 and will have the necessary capabilities during the 2-year transition period preceding it to receive and transmit all standard EDI documents.

As part of complying with this mandate, POW now has the capability of processing, sending and transmitting 10-Digit ISBN, 13-Digit ISBN and UCC/EAN-14 identifiers.

During the transition leading up to the official conversion date in 2007, POW users should not experience any changes in ordering with the exception of minor adjustments to the forms and search pages to accommodate 13-Digit ISBNs. As these changes are made, the community will be notified with Pubnet Community Updates.
