Fall User Group Meeting in the Big Easy

The sounds of summer are here, but if you listen closely you can hear the faint sound of the Mardi Gras Band. This fall Pubnet invites you to join us for the Annual User Group Meeting (UGM), October 14-15 in New Orleans, LA.

The Pubnet UGM will showcase various POS vendor sessions, a session dedicated to PubEasy -- the web-based ordering and enquiry tool, breakouts for that address specific book markets and much more.

Registration for the event will be made available shortly and discounts will be offered for early registrations. If you would like to be contacted with information regarding registration or event details, email mike.donoghue@bowker.com.

The Canadian Transition from CTA to Pubnet is Complete

Yesterday, June 29th, CTA official went offline in Canada. Pubnet has
Successfully transitioned members of the old CTA network to the Pubnet EDI
Community.

Some minor challenges that had arisen during the transition, but they have all been addressed and resolved by the Pubnet Technical Support Team. Through their tireless dedication, CTA members can now fully experience the advantages of EDI for their book ordering.

For more about the transition and current trading partners on Pubnet Canada, visit http://www.booknetcanada.com/booknet/edi_pubnet.shtml.

Pubnet Begins ECPA Transition

ECPA and Bowker are proud to announce that an agreement has been finalized to supply Christian Retailers with the Pubnet EDI Services, replacing the current X-net service. The first phase of the agreement will be to transition users of the Xnet to Pubnet, the EDI supplier of Bowker.

Transitioning from Xnet to Pubnet has already begun and is scheduled to be completed by September. This first phase of the transition will include moving and testing existing interconnect partnerships, vendors, retailers with in-house developed EDI systems and major POS systems (Bookstore Manager, IBID/IRT and Booklog) to Pubnet. For information about setting up a testing and transition timeline, email info@pubnet.org.

Retailers who utilize a major POS (point-of-sale) vendor for electronic ordering do not have to contact Pubnet directly at this time. POS vendors will notify retailers directly of any changes they will have to make to their system during the transition process.
